The Decline and Fall of America

This book is about the continuing decline of America and what Americans can do to stop it. Apple effectively created Samsung, bringing ever accelerating prosperity to workers abroad while our workers can’t find jobs and our standard of living has gone through a decade of stagnation.America’s success had been driven by the spark of innovation, which is not likely to continue. Companies are shifting research and development abroad and foreign nations now sponsor the fundamental research our government could once afford. Our schools rank low among the developed nations, and the internet we created is now better and faster abroad. All of this speaks of decline. Our democracy is dying as we go from a nation of, by and for the people to a nation of, by, and for the wealthy and special interests. Our government is dysfunctional, held in the lowest regard by the people. Instead of coming together to form one nation (E Pluribus Unum), we have become ever more divisive. As a nation we tend to take the good things we created too far, including our personal freedoms and the government programs and laws we esteem, to the point where they create animosities that could destroy us.
