Alternatively, they have chosen a film that is well known but for which they can offer personal insights, unique observations, or specialized information. The tone ranges from literary to conversational, humorous to scholarly, but the overall goal of City Secrets Movies is to share personal enthusiasm for film. A percentage of the proceed is donated to The Film Foundation, a leading nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of film.
