She’s Not Heavy, She’s My Sis, is based on Sr. Marci Blum’s spiritual journey with her dog, Sis, who left paw prints on her heart. This is more than a dog story: Marci connects her experience with Sis to our own lived experiences with pets. You will laugh and feel empathy in her spiritual journey with Sis. Written as a way to deal with the grief from the passing of Sis, Sr. Marci found a new perspective on life. I developed a sense of humor when I experienced Sis’ antics. This sure helps when facing challenges in life. I realized when Sis was hurt that we all go through trying, challenging times in life. But, when we come out on the other side, we realize we have experienced real growth in strength and courage. From Sis, I learned to let go and let God.
