Corrine Castleberry had suffered years of abuse at the hands of her sisters. Unable to tolerate their mistreatment any longer, she walked away from everything-including her children-in search of a better life. Corrine resurfaces years later, with a teenaged daughter in tow and she sets up a private practice, counseling women and men at varying stages of abuse. Brenda, Traci and Shalae are three of her patients. These women are haunted by violence, secrets, and deception. Tramatized by a dramatic event in her life and abuse at the hands of her own mother, Brenda is tormented by the reality she may never be the woman she aspires to be. Traci also suffered years of sexual, physical, and mental abuse brought on by her mother’s drug addiction, but is determined to finish college and make a better life for her and her six-year-old stepsister, Dominique. Shalae was raised to be a strong, independent woman, but falls victim to her abusive, drug-dealing boyfriend, Brian. Corrine takes each woman back to the source of their pain, and soon realizes healing their hearts may not be such a wise idea-especially when the solution means confronting the demons from her own past. Will therapy bring closure, or will the truth destroy them altogether?
