The Renovation

Katherine Gardiner is shocked and humiliated when her husband, Charles, asks for a divorce in order to marry a younger woman. Wanting desperately to prove she can survive on her own, Katherine refuses his generous settlement offer and instead accepts an antebellum home he had inherited in Maryland. With more fantasy than practical reality, she plans to renovate the old Maryland home, sell it, and use the proceeds to begin a new life without Charles.She first sees the ghostly old house after a long and tearful drive from their home in California and she is almost overwhelmed. The house is in need of total renovation. With the very small budget she has for the job, she wonders how will she ever to turn this money pit into a profitable sale? Painted into a corner by her own pride, will she realizes she must find the courage and the resourcefulness to renovate the old house if she is ever going to succeed in renovating her own life.
