Desire

Set in West Cork, Ireland from the onset of WWI to the struggle for independence in 1920, Desire is a dramatisation of the events that led to the birth of a nation, the Republic of Ireland. Seen through the eyes of one young man whose life seems destined to carry him to the heart of the struggle, Desire is based on the real story of a member of the Flying Columns, a participant in the guerilla war that led to the British withdrawl from Ireland.

Desire explores the reasons and motivations for the dramatic events of the time. From the onset of World War 1 to the Easter Rising, the battle that turned the tide of the War of Independence in the direction of the nationalists, Kilmichael.
