Falling in love is an age-old term that describes the process that people go through while developing a relationship that is headed for romantic, mental, emotional, and physical intimacy. Most people tend to use this phrase when they become infatuated or begin to feel a strong emotional attraction or bond to another person. The word love, is opposite in meaning of the word fall. Love speaks of everything that is good, perfect and uplifting. It edifies, builds up, and adds worth and value. Using the two words, love and fall, in the same sentence is contradictory. However, because of the seeming appropriateness and overwhelming popularity of the statement falling in love, it is spoken over and over and over again when referring to romantic relationships. Since according to Proverbs 18:21, life and death is in the power of the tongue, could it be possible that the phrase falling in love sub-consciously assists, or sets into motion, a process of demise to the relationship at hand?
