The two main characters, Lucy and Freddy, are content with their lack of responsibilities in life. The island locals, however, are not content with their lot in life and have devised a means to put themselves on the map, along with making more money. Due to serendipitous events and circumstances, dreams are tested, and lives are changed. (Betting on Paradise can be perceived as a sequel to Rabbits and Moons or stand-alone.)
