Blood on the Blade

Blood on the Blade is adapted from a true love story known to the villagers of Fyzabad. Zoffi Thakur’s only wish is to see a nigger’s blood on his machete blade. He thinks that nigger is in love with his beautiful wife whom he had married under Hindu rites. Madam Joe knows it is her son’s blood that will be on Thakur’s blade. The East Indians and Blacks of Gower’s Well Road, Fyzabad, Trinidad, do not judge each other objectively. Their hating is mutual. Yet romance is thriving secretly among their children. The birth of Madam Joe’s grandson unites the feuding races of Gower’s Well Road in the most beautiful way.
