This book examines the changing nature of law and the lawyer in Philadelphia, beginning with the founding of the city just prior to the start of the eighteenth century. The years have been divided into twelve historical periods that end with World War II as well as an epilogue written in 1990 that presents the vast changes that occurred over the almost fifty-year period.
