Light Triumphant is an Easter Vigil service, which may be used as an entity in itself or with the Good Friday Tenebrae, Out of Darkness Came the Dawn. Light Triumphant features the Easter eve service beginning with all appointments removed from the church chancel area and slowly, dramatically, with appropriate scripture readings and hymns, returns the usual chancel appointments to their places in preparation for the Celebration of the Resurrection.

Esther Lense, an editor with the Journal of the American Ceramic Society, in Columbus, Ohio, graduated with honors from the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary, Columbus, in 1970, after also having been graduated from Capital University in that city. She has been chaplain of the Oesterlen Home for Children, Springfield, Ohio; associate to the pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brook Park (Cleveland), Ohio; a relief housemother for the Florence Crittenton Home, in Columbus; and also served in setting up programs for unmarried mothers in Cleveland’s Catholic Family and Children’s Services. Widowed, she is the mother of two married children. She is a prolific author and has had more than two dozen books published.
