Old Ninety-Six and Abbeville District are the present-day counties of Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Edgefield, Greenwood, Greenville, Laurens, Newberry, Pickens, Oconee, Saluda, Spartanburg, and Union. Old Ninety-Six District bordered Georgia on its western boundary and was the ancestral home of many early Georgia settlers.
