It closely followed the forms and teachings of the Methodist Church, complete with its own conference structure, bishops and Book of Discipline. Launched among the German community in Pennsylvania soon after the Revolutionary War, the reader will observe slight cultural distinctions from the Methodist Church, but will also readily see the movement of the Holy Spirit in cleansing power among any who are eager to receive him.
