On the Line: The Creation of A Chorus Line

A Chorus Line was one of the biggest Broadway hits of its generation - and is set to make a spectacular comeback in September 2006. Based on a remarkable series of taped discussions with some of the top Broadway dancers of the 70’s, many of whom went on to play the characters based on themselves, the much-loved musical went on to win numerous awards and accolades - including a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize. On the Line is a collective oral history of the historic show - the 19 original cast members reveal how they got involved with the project, how they laboured through months of intensive workshops and rehearsals, and what its success has meant for their lives and careers.
