Tommy the Theatre Cat
Maureen Potter
Tommy, the Gaiety Theatre cat, loves to sit in the President’s chair and falls foul of the cleaning lady; to his horror, he encounters a man-sized cat, but ends up making a friend of the actor, Terry, who is playing Dick Whittington’s cat. Maureen Potter is Dick. She appears through the book, as the ‘small lady with glasses’ who sometimes gets annoyed with people, but is mostly smiley and friendly. Tommy also rushes to the rescue at the cry of ‘rats, rats’ in another production, the Pied Piper.
