This study focuses on the investigation of prehistoric workshops in northern Mauritania. The author looks at the palaeo-environment, the location and type of natural resources and raw materials, and their implications for the lithic industry. The case study is formed by three sites: El-Azrag, Tarf H'Mer and Arouakim. The lithics from each site are analysed and the variability in assemblages are discussed. French text.
