Settlement Development in the North Jazira

Using data drawn from archaeological surveys conducted during the late 1980’s, this volume charts the ebb and flow of human population in this important part of Upper Mesopotamia. The archaeological landscape, when reviewed in conjunction with the settlement and artefact record, provides here a framework for assessing ancient economy and demography from the early post-glacial period until late Islamic times.
