Another Music: Through the Year with George Herbert

Most church congregations know the hymns Teach me my God and King and Let all the world in every corner sing. George Herbert, Rector of Fugglestone with Bemerton from 1630-1633, wrote these words and over 160 other poems. Another Music provides a unique collection, setting to music as hymns a number of Herbert’s lesser known poems, covering aspects of the Church’s Year. The music specially composed for this collection has been provided by musicians with a special connection to the Salisbury area, including Barry Ferguson, David Halls, Edmund Hampton, Simon Lole, Howard Moody, Alec Roth and Richard Shephard. They provide music in a wide variety of styles, enhancing Herbert’s words and bringing his poems to a fresh audience.
