Public Sculpture of Birmingham

Birmingham has an extensive range of monuments and sculpture accessible to the public, and this catalogue documents this rich heritage, from the earliest surviving item to modern, recently erected sculptures. Included are not only independent works such as grand monuments, portrait statues, abstract sculptures and fountains, but also sculpture executed to embellish the city’s civic and commercial architecture. The book is arranged by location, and details are given of sculptors, history, materials, dimensions, ownership, condition, and literature related to the sculptures. There are also photographs of most of the hundreds of works included.
