Chronicle of Pseudo-Joshua the Stylite
Pseudo-Joshua the Stylite
This is a translation of a Syriac text, probably written by an inhabitant of Edessa (now in modern-day Turkey), almost immediately after the conclusion of the war between Rome and Persia in 502-506 CE. The chronicle describes the region, the events leading up to the war and the plague and famine that followed.
