The Emperor Julian: Panegyric and Polemic

This series is designed to meet the needs of students of ancient and medieval history and others who wish to broaden their study by reading source material, but whose Latin and Greek is not sufficent to allow them to do so in the original language. These three texts are concerned with the brief reign of the Emperor Julian, who tried to revive traditional Roman religion and classical, especially Greek, culture in opposition to Christianity. The texts reflect the controversy that this caused.
