Vimy Ridge: Arras

Where others had failed, Canada’s citizen army won its greatest victory on Vimy Ridge in 1917. This, the latest in the Battleground Europe series, features a detailed account of the World War I engagement, and a full description of the battlefield and monuments as they are today.

The historical narrative covers the activities of the French army (ignored in many accounts), the British occupation of the Vimy sector, and the decisive offensive of 1917.
