The radical project: Sartrean Investigations

These Sartrean investigations are an attempt at a political reckoning with Sartre. They are an attempt to inhabit some of the central political questions of the 20th century alongside Sartre. Now that the 20th centurey is over author, Bill Martin, asks whether Sartre’s radical spirit can still help to understand and change the emerging world. This book is an attempt to integrate the theory and activism of Sartre, emphasizing his anti-imperialism. Areas discussed include: Sartre’s theory of the Stalin period; Sartre’s engagement with Maoism and Judaism; and Sartre’s legacy for radical intellectuals.
