In Praise of Miss Brown: A Two-Act Comedy about a Teacher and Her Influence

An ingenious two-act script in which the plot line is secondary to its lovable characters and prickly situations in which they find themselves. The five teen members of the cast spend a great deal of time in the home of their teacher, Constance Brown, where she lives with her widowed mother. The intertwining story lines deal with the students’ encouragement of Miss Brown’s romance and with her election of Teacher of the Year. Reminiscent of the ‘Our Miss Brooks’ television series, In Praise of Miss Brown demands strong comedic acting and a feel for nostalgia.
