The Prodigal God

The Prodigal God, by Timothy Keller helps us recalibrate to the center of the Christian faith. According to the dictionary of the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, ‘prodigal’ does not mean wayward, willful, disobedient or wayward, but rather wastes his finances in useless and vain expenses, without measure, order or reason . In other words, it is spending everything you have until you have nothing. Therefore, this expression is appropriate within the story to describe both the father and his younger son. Thus, the father’s welcome to the repentant son was literally reckless, since he refused to take his sin into account or demand retribution. This response offended the eldest son and probably most of the local community. In this story, the father represents our Heavenly Father, about whom Jesus teaches very well. Jesus shows us the God of great expense, the one who is nothing if he is not prodigal towards his children, our hope being the reckless grace of God, an experience that changes us, and is the subject of this book. About this book:

An introduction to the Christian faith. A writing for the curious unaffiliated and for the established affiliates of the faith. A comparison of the story with the way we live in this world. A new way to approach and see this well-known passage.
