A Four-Volume, Four-Year Collection Development Program

H.W. Wilson’s Senior High Core Collection (18th Edition) is an ongoing program to identify the best, most current material available to your library. It includes a main, library-bound guide to over 8,000 books plus review sources and other professional aids for librarians and school media specialists. Plus three subsequent, annual supplements to identify new and important work.

The Collection is a selective list of fiction and non-fiction books recommended for grades 9 through 12. It includes analytical entries for parts of books, a list of recommended periodicals for high school libraries, and a list of recommended electronic resources. Titles are selected by librarians, editors, advisors, and nominators-all of them experts in services to adolescents and young adults.

The Collection is a valuable tool for collection development and maintenance, reader’s advisory and curriculum support for the high school library or institution supporting high school students. Richly enhanced records provide a wealth of useful information. All entries include complete bibliographic data as well as price, subject headings, annotations, grade level, Dewey classification, cover art, and quotations from reviews. Many entries also list awards, best-book lists, and starred reviews.
