This work presents unorthodox proposals to promote co-operation between the world’s poor and rich countries in combatting the widespread and growing poverty and unemployment which exists in both areas. The authors suggest a new type of Marshall Plan in which increased aid to the poor countries will help stimulate economies of the rich countries through a feed-back process. The authors also outline programmes which Third World countries should institute to promote their people’s welfare. Finally, the authors propose that the United Nations should organise two world conferences: one to achieve a reduction of poverty in all countries; and the second to relieve the over-indebtedness of the developing countries.
