Isaac Leeser and the Making of American Judaism

Isaac Leeser was a leading Jewish figure in the United States from 1829 until his death in 1868. Using archival and primary sources, this work studies the man who was responsible for constructing the foundation of what was to become the largest Jewish community in the history of the Jewish people.
