Educational Leadership: Performance Standards, Portfolio Assessment, and the Internship

An integrated step-by-step standards approach to documenting student competencies, designed for leadership faculty and interns. Students learn about the historical foundations of the internship and the national standards and ethical behaviours that guide leadership preparation programmes. They also complete activities to demonstrate and document attained skills. The authors are strong advocates for internships in the school setting where collaboration and mentoring opportunities between supervisors, students and school leaders can occur. They text contains standards-based activities and assessment rubrics to document programme outcomes. These activities enable assessment of the interns application and demonstration of skills, knowledge, and dispositions within a school setting.
