Contemporary Black Biography

This reference provides significant biographical coverage of prominent black individuals for students, researchers, and general readers. Twice a year, Contemporary Black Biography presents about 70 in-depth essays that tell the stories of internationally prominent black men and women. Individuals from all areas of endeavour are profiled, and their occupations include art, music, dance, theatre, literature, journalism, science and technology, politics and government, law, social issues, religion, entertainment, sports, medicine, education, international affairs, business and more. The focus of each entry, is an informative essay designed to add a personal dimension to the listing by presenting an overview of the person’s activities and achievements. A portrait of each person is included, and, where possible, interviews offer the reader an opportunity to learn more about the subject’s career and interests. Every entry concludes with a list of sources containing additional information about the subject. Individual, occupation, nationality, and subject indexes are included in each volume.
