Literature Criticism from 1400 to 1800

This international resource offers complete critical coverage of important 15th- through 19th-century authors. Each volume presents extensive excerpts from published criticism on about seven to nine writers from a variety of genres and nationalities, including novelists, poets, playwrights, essayists, philosophers, historians and others. Beginning with volume 12, each volume of Literature Criticism from 1400-1800 includes one topic entry devoted the commentary on a major theme, issue, or time period in world literature. Topic entries examines literacy subjects that cannot be covering under the author-entry approach. Author portraits and ilustrations, facsimile manuscript pages, and pictures related to authors’ lives are included as is a cumulative topic index.
