Classical and Mediaeval Literature Criticism

Classical and Medieval Literature Criticism aims to fill the need for a convenient source of wide-ranging critical comment on early literature from the pre-Biblical epics of ancient Sumeria to the end of the 14th century. This series furnishes extensive excerpts from criticism on authors, poets, dramatists, and literary works that contributed to the culture of many ages and areas. The selected passages of each entry feature: an author or title heading with full name, including pseudonyms; an introduction by Gale editors; a list of principal English tranlations; critical responses through the ages; illustrations; and an annotated bibliography for further reading. Each volume covers four to six authors or works of classical and medieval literature.
