New Directions in American Indian History

Intended as a guide to recent research, as well as an indicator of emerging fields of inquiry, this collection of bibliographic essays on various aspects of Native American studies is a response to the great quantity of current publications in this field. Its nine articles discuss current investigation into such diverse topics as American Indian women and religious changes in Native societies. This first volume of a new bibliographic series aims to provide a key for students and scholars alike to current scholarship in a rapidly expanding field.
