Helene Cixous has been one of the leading French feminist theoreticians and writers for the past 30 years. This study covers Cixous’ work from the 1960s to the present, and in all of the genres in which she has worked - essay, fiction, and theatre - focusing on a handful of her masterpieces, notably Laugh of the Medusa , The Book of Promethea, and Portrait of Dora . A discussion of her collaboration with Ariane Mnouchkine on theatrical presentations is included.
