This is a true story about a boy, Le Roux Heunis, who really, really wanted a snake, but everybody in the family was against it. One day Le Roux visited a snake and reptile park and was able to hold a bearded dragon and he fell in love. This time the answer was yes and after spending all his pocket money to set up a home for the dragon, the beardie arrived. Le Roux decided he wanted to write a book about his dragon. He planned this book about his pet bearded dragon, whom he named Rango. His grandmother Bea, helped him with the layout and writing, but he was very much involved in the telling of the story. Le Roux was 10 years old at the time of writing this book and a student at Kenridge Primary School, in Cape Town, South Africa. This is not only Le Roux's and Rango's story, but also a guide to what it involves to have a bearded dragon as a pet.bearded dragon.
