On December 16th, 1862, Colonel George W. McKenzie formed the Fifth Tennessee Cavalry Regiment to aid the Confederate army in the Civil War. This publication provides the order books of the 1st Regiment Tennessee Cavalry, the 2nd Regiment Tennessee Cavalry, the 2nd Battalion Tennessee Cavalry, the 5th Regiment Tennessee Cavalry, and the Army of Tennessee. A full-name, place and subject index is included in this work; it is concluded by facsimile reprints of original orders, which begin on page 99.
