This work provides an objective look at the best chess books of the period 1901 through 2000. Criteria were popularity, longevity, critical acclaim, influence, definitiveness, historical importance, authorship and reputation. All were published in English (or, language-less, use figurine notation). Each entry includes the work’s title, author, publisher, year of release, length, description, and author information.
