Jamaica, the People

This work is for ages 9-14. The motto on Jamaica’s coat of arms, Out of Many, One People, reflects the diversity of cultures that is Jamaica today. Jamaica - The People follows the island’s history from colony to independence and beyond. Fabulous images and special spreads on food and life in a Maroon village show a side of Jamaica not depicted in tourist pamphlets.
