  1. In 1890 the Reverend Frank Wakely Gunsaulus gave what became known as the Million Dollar Sermon. He told his parishioners that, given a million dollars, he would build a school where students of all backgrounds could prepare for meaningful roles in a rapidly changing industrial society. Philip Danforth Armour went up to Gunsaulus after the sermon and told him he believed in him and that he’d have his million dollars. Thus, Armour Institute was born. This volume is a collection of prayers, addresses and speeches given in Memoriam of the Chicago preacher.
