Found in this volume is a collection of certain rambling extracts from the family memoranda of Thomas Ingoldsby. These papers were written by different parties and at different intervals. The author thought it advisable to update the phraseology into comparatively modern language. Ingoldsby was a priest in ordinary of Chapel Royal and this book contains his drolly ironic metrical tales.
