Our White House: Looking In, Looking Out

This title features a fantastic effort and collaboration of over 100 authors and illustrators as they tell the story of American history through the comings and goings of the White House. Our White House is a diverse and detailed look at American history through the prism of the White House. Poetry, personal reflections, essays, a graphic story, historical fiction, and more fill the 256 pages with information and perspectives on life inside and outside the White House. Some of the contributors include Katherine Paterson, David McCullough, David McCaulay, Susan Cooper, Gregory Maguire, Brian Selznick, Jean Craighead George, Jon Scieszka, Natalie Babbitt, David Small, Megan McDonald, Meg Cabot, Walter Dean Myers and many, many more. It was put together by the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance who promote literacy for children of all backgrounds.
