The Church and Love: A Treatise on the Love of Christ for the People of God

The Church and Love advocates a resurgence of the core knowledge of Jesus Christ in preparation for the bi-millenium celebration of his birth. It encourages a return to the centuries old practice of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Christ through a historic approach to the understanding of God’s love for his people that tends to be neglected today. It follows the devotion through history, beginning with its origin by Christ himself at the Last Supper, through the early church in the Middle Ages, continuing through the Vatican Council II when Pope Paul VI encouraged a return to it, to the present. Finally by focusing on the Jubilee Year 2000 celebration, it invites the establishment of Peace throughout the world as Pope John Paul II asks through this devotion.
