In Kanone Homer’s epic the Iliad lives again, its ancient war-cry now heard along a forgotten stretch of the Western Front. The Ste Helene Salient is strategically important to both Britain and Germany and, as winter descends upon 1917, both their great armies are locked in a fierce and bloody struggle for its possession.
