Come aboard a modern day super carrier and fly on the cutting edge in the F-14 Tomcats of VF-84 ‘Jolly Roger’ as you’re blasted from 0 to 180 m.p.h in a couple of seconds with no runway left over. You’ll push it to the edge of the envelope at Fightertown, USA, as you go head to head with the ‘best of the best’ in F-18s, f-5s and the Navy’s new aggressor aircraft, the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The Navy calls it Fighting Weapons School, the pilots call it Top Gun! You’re there for the kill in a live twisting and turning high speed duel, as Tomcats fly ‘fangs out’ and splash Libyan MiGs. We’ll tangle with ‘bogies’ while flying high cover for Hornets, Instruders and Prowlers as they go ashore to take the attack ‘Downtown’. Strap on your ‘speed jeans’, light the afterburners and go ballistic in the new F-14D Super Tomcat. Get the first look at the T-45 Goshawks which will train naval aviators in the 21st century Tomcat Territory, where only the winners get to live! Designed as the ultimate long range fleet defence fighter interceptor for the US Navy, the Tomcat entered frontline service in 1973 as a replacement for the legendary F-4 Phantom II. The F-14 achieved its first aerial victories, against the Libyan Arab Republic Air Force, in August 1981, and went on to see action in Operations Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Deliberate Force, Enduring Freedom and, finally, Iraqi Freedom. Employed primarily as a precision bomber with the US Navy from the late 1990s until its retirement in 2006, the F-14 remains in service today with the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force.
