The book continues the story of his previous work, presenting the truth about a conflict which has sometimes been deliberately underplayed by the Establishment. His first book on Northern Ireland, A Long Long War: Voices From the British Army in Northern Ireland 1969 98 was published in 2008, and he has also written The Bloodiest Year 1972 for The History Press.
