The second edition of Basic Manufacturing has been revised to be in line with GNVQ specifications, covering the three compulsory units and the externally assessed optional unit. The author’s approach is student-centred with self-check questions and activities provided throughout. As a result, the book should be suitable for independent study. Review questions are provided at the end of each chapter to consolidate learning and agive practice for external assessments. The book also offers an introduction to the technical and business aspects of the manufacturing industry that should be useful for students on a wide range of courses, including City & Guilds certificates. It also provides a good grounding for students on Advanced GNVQ programmes in manufacturing. This edition includes a new chapter on application of new technology in manufacturing.
