This title is printed to order. This book may have been self-published. If so, we cannot guarantee the quality of the content. In the main most books will have gone through the editing process however some may not. We therefore suggest that you be aware of this before ordering this book. This book will describe the laser-plasma interactions mostly driven by ultra-short ultraintense lasers, including electron acceleration, ion acceleration, and generation of radiations. Each subject will be described from the basic principle to the current status.
Also, some instructions to build such sources will be given, and problems will be provided for practice the design of the laser-plasma sources. Laser-plasma particle acceleration and radiation sources are intensively pursued due to their possibility to overcome the current limitation of linear accelerators and synchrotron sources. In last year, G. Mourou, the father of intense ultrashort lasers, received Nobel prize due to the recent progress in laser and laser-plasma sciences. Nowadays, huge laser facilities, named as extreme light infrastructure (ELI), are under construction to study laser-plasma interactions. Therefore, the demand for comprehensive studying material to enter the research area of modern laser-plasma interactions is getting high, but there are not many books on this topic. This book can be beneficial for students and young scientists to understand the principle of laser-plasma interactions and design their experiments.
