After Theory

As theory is now becoming confined to academic circles, and society ever more resistant to radical thought, the author of this text suggests an alternative for the 21st century. Ranging across a number of major areas of contemporary cultural practice, he proposes a post-Marxist attitude towards theory to escape from the confines of the 20th century. The book outlines this alternative postmodern critical intellectual practice, and demonstrates its use and potential in the battle against conservative imprisonment of thought.
