Stepping in

Patti and her husband Bill are struggling to adjust to the new reality that Grace, Bill’s aging mother, is moving in with them. Grace, too, has her concerns. Even simple things like answering the phone are a challenge to Grace as she tries to adjust to this major change. In her forgetfulness, she left the stove on and went out to water some flowers. Patti decides that she needs to encourage Grace to help in simple ways, like sweeping the floor with her. This sketch is a touching look at the fears and challenges associated with caring for aging parents.
