Tourism in Frontier Areas

This collection of essay, edited by Israeli scholars Shual Krakover and Yehuda Gradus, provides information and analysis of the development and management of tourism in the peripheries. The authors have assembled contributors who bring insight to the issue of frontier tourism. The essays and focused case studies discuss the economic feasibility of frontier tourist development, the tourist development of rural and urban settings, and the expansion of tourism to remote borderlands. They highlight the potential, as well as the environmental, economic, bureaucratic and cultural difficulties of peripheral tourism.
